my parents flew down to my peru last week for another grand gleave family adventure.
we met up in lima for a few short hours and then immediately flew down to cusco for a weekend full of exploration and my new favorite food (lomo saltado... so good!)
cusco is an ancient little city tucked in the andes, full of steep cobblestone streets and rich incan history.
it is so clean and tourist-y and completely unlike any south america i've known thus far.
at an altitude of over 11,000 feet, cusco has a perfect blend of incan and andean cultures;
i loved the vibrant colors of the andes and traditional dress contrasted against all of the stone work and white churches.
though we were rained on (over and over and over again!), we visited incan temples and ruins, had our first encounters with coca, and hung out with those crazy little llamas.
love my padres, love this place.
