sundays make me miss peru the most.
what i wouldn't give right now to stroll through the countryside, snuggle with my mateo, hug my niños, or take in the andean breeze.
one of my favorite activities that anna and i did weekly was to take our kiddos and walk through the neighborhoods surrounding el bichito until we climbed to the top of a mountain peak, where there just so happened to be a beautiful soccer pitch that had the most breath-taking views.
it was here that we played our traditional match-up of real madrid (my team) vs. perú (anna's team).
our teams would have constantly changing players and opponents and would inevitably end in tears, but what can we say... we go hard, ya know?
while herding the crowd of niños all through the streets, we'd always encounter the funniest little characters (mostly in the form of turkeys and donkeys and pigs galore!) on our way.

today, i'm missing all of those precious little faces and pretty much everything about peru so much that my heart hurts... i'd give anything to go back!
it's funny how a few months in a place like that (and mostly the relationships built) can really change a life forever.
i still think about my peru every day, but i'm lucky enough to carry pieces of peru's beauty with me daily.
