sometimes.

sometimes, i get a little lost.

and then i remember the beauty of the world... of the simplest little pieces of it,

and i know that there's a loving, ever-watchful god.

this summer, i had the privilege of shooting a few weddings in the beautiful (and blazing hot!) arizona.

one of those weddings was my darling cousin josie's.

after several years of letter writing, courtship, and a few trips across the globe, her trans-continental love story finally blossomed, and she married her australian amor.

and we already love having jeremy in the family!

these two were so wonderful to work with, so full of laughter and excitement. 

their happiness was palpable,

and really, have you seen a handsomer couple? they are darling. 

their wedding in the mesa, arizona lds temple was followed by a tea-party inspired reception and a gleave family dance party (too much fun, really). 

again, i tend to be better with photos than i am with words, so let's just get to the photos!

the head & the heart in SLC.

maybe one of your top-four favorite bands of all time came to salt lake city this september. 

so maybe you, and one of your mejor amigas just had to go.  

maybe you were "as sick as a dog," but this was the one thing that got you out of bed for the weekend.

and you stopped at chipotle on the way to the city, which is always a positive.

and maybe these guys opened, and they were really good.

and then said favorite band finally came on,

and they blew you away. 

and maybe you spent the night singing and swooning and screaming.

and a friend got the set list, so you screamed some more.

and maybe you just might have been geeking out ever since

and have rewatched those little videos you took on your iphone over and over again.

and now, maybe you're more obsessed than ever. 

really though, this band is really beautiful

[even post folk festival//pool party in their skivvies//inside an abandoned stairwell].

and winter song... is my song... right now.

this semester, 

all three of us gleave kids are studying away here at byu.

and byu has never been so fun.

not much has changed in the past fifteen years...

i still love these guys! 

carried away.

with fifty percent of the country in anguish and fifty percent in elation,

and another exam-filled week in the life of anna gleave,

sometimes you just have to get carried away in the music.

it's so different from the passion pit norm,

so stripped down and mellow.

but it's just what this late-night study sesh calls for. 

and i am a little bit in love.

this is my friend matthew.

he's a pretty incredible musician.
he had a record deal at some crazy age like fourteen,
and now he's doing the solo thing,
and i'm a huge fan of his work.
plus, he's literally the nicest kid on the planet!

and last week, i had the opportunity to watch him play a cozy little acoustic show at the velour. 

you should probably listen to his music and check out his facebook page and stuff.
his music is gooooooooooooood.

that halloween thing.

just a little more proof that i am [still] alive. 

and despite the fact that i am absolutely drowning [thanks, life],

i decided to take a few hours off this weekend and celebrate my last halloween in provo.

naturally, this celebration was comprised of nothing more than a trip to gen x, a massive dance party with my roommates, and sammy's shakes. 

and for the record, life is pretty dang good as a jack-o-lantern.
